Addie Mae (Ellisor) Johnson

With deep love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Addie Mae (Ellisor) Johnson, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 81.

Addie was born on August 3, 1944, to Nona Mae Bryant Ellisor and Elmer Eli Ellisor, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the first daughter born into a loving family of eleven siblings and shared a lifetime of love with her brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Evander Johnson, who passed away on December 20, 2025; her parents; and her brothers, Elmer Eli Ellisor Jr., Willie Charles Ellisor, James Ammon Ellisor, Jesse Ray Ellisor, and Robert Lee Ellisor.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her beloved children: Evander Johnson Jr.; Kellie Rachelle McNair (Janson); and Carla Michelle Jones (Christopher). She also leaves her loving siblings: Johnny Douglas Ellisor (Christine); Val Calvert (Hector); Callie Ann McGilbert; Nona Delores Tatman; and Rebbie Ellisor-Taylor (Ashiki). She also lovingly remembered her sisters-in-law Barbara Ellisor, widow of Elmer Eli Ellisor Jr.; Deeda Ellisor, widow of James Ammon Ellisor; and Elke Ellisor, widow of Jesse Ray Ellisor. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Janson Charles McNair, Isabelle Lee Landers, Abby Rose Jones, Ava Kellie Jones, Ashton McKinley McNair, and Charlee Maia Johnson. She also leaves her cherished brother-in-law, Harvey Johnson (Lon), along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, treasured friends, and her beloved church family, all of whom will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Addie was a proud graduate of Evan E Worthing High School where she met her husband, Evander Johnson. Following high school, she attended San Francisco State University before reuniting with Evander after his return from the Vietnam War. Addie was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and the heart of her family. She dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. As a stay-at-home mother, she found immense joy in raising her children, reading with them, encouraging their education, and faithfully attending their school activities. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

An extraordinary cook and gifted baker, Addie was known for preparing meals and desserts completely from scratch. Family gatherings were made even more special by her famous German chocolate cake, Sock-It-to-Me cake, holiday cookies, lemon meringue pie, and countless other homemade treats that became family favorites.

She was also talented with her hands and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting, creating treasured keepsakes for those she loved.

Above all, Addie's greatest love was her faith in the Lord. She faithfully read her Bible and attended services at Heavenly Temple. She treasured the fellowship of her church family and found joy in worship, prayer, and spending time with dear friends from the church.

Anyone who knew Addie knew her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and beautiful smile that could light up any room. She possessed a quiet strength, an unwavering faith, and a generous heart that touched countless lives. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to God and family will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
