Obituary

Alice Faye Gentry, age 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2026, surrounded by love.

She was born on April 29th, 1950 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Elijah Hurts and Aggie Lee Sims. Throughout her life, Alice Faye was known for her kindness, strength generosity, humor, and love of family. She touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alice Faye was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Agatha "Aggie" and Alethe "Eeffe"; her grandchildren Alicia Faye and Rita, her sisters Debbie, Alma Lee, Rita, Shirley, Tanya; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She had a deep love for music, swimming, riding her bike, and encouraging others. She will be remembered for her love of a good time, joyous spirit, her warm smile, her cooking, her unwavering support, and her laughter. Her love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and take comfort knowing that Faye is now at peace in Heaven. As Scripture reminds us:

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am" John 14:1-3
