Remembering Allen Fitzgerald Anderson

On July 24, 1970, a handsome baby boy was born to the proud and loving parents, Roscoe E. Anderson and Carolyn L Beasley in Houston, Texas. He spent his childhood at his paternal grandmother, Eljane Anderson, aka, Big Mama's house and attended Jack Yates High School.

Allen worked along side his father for many years as a roofer at Sentry Roofing Company. There, he negotiated bids, install, repair, replace roofs on residential and commercial properties. Our Allen worked hard; however, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Attending family night events, reunions, road trips, Dad time with his children, fishing or just simply hanging out with his friends. He was also well known in the neighborhood as Big Al, the guy that stay at the comer house. Often, neighbors would drive by to say hello, he waves back as he sat quietly in his truck, backed up in the driveway as he listened to his favorite music.

Our beloved Allen, quietly accepted God's call and passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2024, at the age of 53.

He was preceded in death by his maternal, paternal grandparents, brother Rossy and stepbrother Kenneth Johnson.

Allen leaves behind two children, Lauryn and Aiden, parents, Carolyn Hamilton [Jacob], Roscoe [Helen], sister Kenya, host of family and friends.
