It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Andre Sanders Shepherd, age 65, of Houston, Texas, who entered eternal rest on September 13, 2025, at Harbor Hospice House.
Andre was born on August 15, 1960, in Houston, Texas, to Melvin Shepherd Sr. and Laverne Sanders Shepherd. He grew up in the neighborhoods of Third Ward, Sunnyside, and South Park. He attended Alcott Elementary, Hartman Junior High, and Jesse H. Jones High School. Andre later continued his training at Job Corps, where he studied to become an electrician.

He began his career as a Lineman Electrician with Houston Lighting & Power (HLP) and later worked as a Safety Officer with Thermon from 2001 until his health declined in 2018.
Andre was a faithful member of Silverlake Church. He was known for his love of barbecuing, driving his fast cars, reading comic books, and his deep dedication to his family. His playful, childlike wit endeared him to many children, and he will be forever remembered for his beautiful brown eyes and soft-spoken nature.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Sandra Hasker Williams Shepherd; his children Tyron, Princess, Andre Jr., Nicholas, and Dontae; and his grandchildren Prince, Josiah, London, Asia, Brenym, Marley, Frankie, Andre III, Kenzie, and Azalea. He is also survived by his siblings Brian, Melva, and Melvin Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. To the gentle giant with the "LOUDEST" roar, but the most caring person on God's green earth "Uncle Samuel Brown".

Andre was preceded in death by his parents Laverne and Melvin Sr.; grandparents Louise Brown, George Sanders, and Gracie Mae; and siblings Lisa and Reginald.
