Angela G. Kinchloe, born on February 5, 1957, to Mazel Stewart and Clarence Brooks, went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2024. She was the heart of her family, embodying love, strength, and wisdom. Angela was not only a beloved sister but also a guiding mother figure to her siblings Neal Brooks, Anthony Rhodes ("Bunny"), Eric Brooks (Ricky), Kenneth Roberts, Sheretta Roberts, Kelvin Roberts, and Phillip Roberts. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support greatly shaped their lives.
Raised in Houston, Texas, Angela attended Attucks Junior High and graduated from Worthing High School. During her senior year, she lived with her "Uncle John" and "Aunt Norma", and formed an unbreakable sisterhood relationship with her cousin Flo which lasted a lifetime. After graduating high school, she was provided with a unique opportunity to work for NASA. This experience launched a successful career working for Shell Oil company and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts as an Executive Assistant. Angela was a passionate reader who rarely left home without her Kindle and loved reading all genres of novels.
Angela married Dave Young Jr., and together they had one daughter, Chandra Washington. Angela and Chandra shared a deep, unbreakable bond rooted in love and mutual respect. More than just mother and daughter, they were best friends and confidants, offering each other unwavering support throughout life's ups and downs. Angela also developed an unbreakable connection with her granddaughters, Kayla Young, and Jaidyn Edwards, centering her life around them and offering them wisdom, love, and joy.
Later in life, Angela found love again with Billy Ray Burks, with whom she shared a profound and deep connection. They were true soulmates, and their bond brought them immense happiness throughout the years they spent together. As a devoted housewife, Angela poured her heart into their relationship, creating a loving and nurturing home where they both found peace and joy. Their devotion to one another was unwavering, and they remained inseparable until Billy's passing in July 2024. The love they shared was a source of strength and comfort for Angela, one that filled her life with happiness and purpose.
Angela's legacy is one of unconditional love, resilience, and devotion to family. She will always be remembered as a strong matriarch, a source of comfort, and a role model for all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on through her daughter Chandra, granddaughters, siblings, and the host of other family members and friends who were blessed by her presence.
