Obituary

Arthur Roy "Bo" Sterling was an Army Veteran and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and he never let you forget it. He had a love for fishing and his family. On September 10, 1942, he was born in Melville, Louisiana, to Ben and Odealia Allen Sterling. Bo was the third of eleven children.

Bo was united in holy matrimony with the late Willie "Jean" Sterling on September 26, 1964, and they were happily married for 58 years. To this union, two children were born, Norman and Daryl.

After serving in the Army, Bo and Jean moved to Houston, where Sears and Firestone employed him for over 30 years.  Bo had an endless love for Melville, Louisiana, family, friends, Peacock Street, and, in the words of Bo, "his six-time Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was also a fan of the Lakers and San Francisco Giants.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Odealia Sterling; his wife, Jean Sterling; his sisters, Marian Sterling, Doris Roberts, Geraldine Butler, Dixie Richard, and Annette Johnson; and one brother, Richard Sterling.

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, Bo entered eternal rest. Bo leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Norman (Angela) and Daryl; his daughter Beverly; his three grandchildren, Phillip, Taylor, and Morgan; two brothers, Ben Jr. and Allen Farris Sterling;  two sisters, Bunnie Gasaway and Yolanda Sterling; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and  friends. He also leaves to mourn his special friends, Frederick "Fred" Griffin and Ray Sykes.
