Audrey Jean (Kindle) Ross

Audrey Jean Kindle was the firstborn child of Archie and Bobbie Kindle in Houston, Texas, born on March 7, 1935.

Audrey was a proud student at Ryan Colored Junior High School and Yates Colored High School. After completing the required education, she pursued and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. From here, she worked as unto the Lord in hospitals, doctors' offices, and with the City of Houston Mobile Immunization Team, which is where she retired.

She accepted Jesus at an early age. She became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Then, as an adult, she joined St. Agnes Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gene A. Moore, where she faithfully sang in the choir for more than 20 years.

In her marriage union to Leon Brooks Jr., who preceded her in death, they were blessed with many children. Also preceding her in death are her youngest son, Mark Brooks; her father, Archie; her mother, Bobbie; her brother, Sidney; and her sister, Faye.

She leaves behind her children to cherish her memory: Bobby Goffney (Patricia), Anthony Brooks, Leonette Brooks-Lewis (James), Vanessa Brooks-Jones (Victor), Timothy Brooks (Lashonda), 12 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, one sister, Benita, one brother, Cecil, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
