Obituary

On November 19, 1947, Beatrice Destin Williams was born to Arthur Destin Sr. and Luetter Anderson Destin in Morrow, Louisiana.

Beatrice attended primary school in Crosby, Texas. At a young age, she joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. After moving to Houston, she united with Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and devoted member until her passing.

Beatrice welcomed her first daughter, Anita, in 1964. She later married Calvin Malone, and in 1971, they were blessed with her second daughter, Melissa. To know Beatrice was to know joy—she truly embodied the spirit of "Live, Laugh, Love." She cherished time with her family, enjoyed shopping, and loved taking trips to the casino. Her laughter, warmth, and light touched everyone around her.

Beatrice worked hard throughout her life and took great pride in her dedication. She retired from Kroger in 2013 after 15 years of loyal service. Not one to sit still for long, she returned to work in April 2019 at Lawrence Street Healthcare Center, where she served as Supervisor of Housekeeping. She poured her heart into her role, and her presence was deeply felt—and greatly missed—by every patient and staff member blessed to cross her path. She stepped away only when her cancer treatment required it.

Affectionately known as "Ms. Bea," she entered God's Heavenly Gates on November 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita; her husband, Jerry; her parents, Arthur and Luetter Destin; and her siblings: Robert Destin Sr., Arthur Destin Jr., Paul Destin, Addie Pearl Destin, Ealer Johnson, Emma Jean Reed, Willie Davis, and Louise Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Melissa Shead (Larry) of Tomball; one brother/nephew, Michael Destin of Crosby, Texas; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Destin of Crosby, Texas. Beatrice's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kristen Malone, Albert L. Wyatt (Michnique), Brian Wyatt (Precious), Alexandria Robertson, Jailen Sims, Brian J. Wyatt, Ariana Wyatt, Madison Wyatt, Madison Smith, Landon Wyatt, Cali Wyatt, Sevyn Wyatt, and Ava Farias. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
