She was born in Crowley, LA to Joy Webster and Luberta Wilturner. She married Ernest Bounds Jr.

Bettie is survived by 3 children: Troy Bounds, Byron Bounds and Byron Mills (Peewee). Daughter-in-laws Rosa K Bounds and Ulanda Bounds. Grandchildren: Arial, Morgan and wife(Ashly), Melani. Great-grandchildren: Adraina, Annalise, Bryson. Niece: Paula (Peggy)Peyton and host of cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest and brother Dale Webster
