Bridgette Camille Roberts

Bridgette Camille Roberts was born on April 27, 1967, in Houston, Texas, to the late Mr. Charles LeRoy and Mrs. Selena Rose Roberts. She was their only child and was deeply loved. Her parents were married for more than 38 years and instilled in Bridgette the values of family, perseverance, and love.

Bridgette accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Christian Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Herbert Stroman. She was proud to say he was her Pastor. She loved the Church services and the renowned Hope Musicals. Later in life, Bridgette and her mom became members of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Charles W. Gains, Sr. is now Pastor. Bridgette’s faith remained an important part of her life, and whenever she was able, she attended church and loved being surrounded by the fellowship of God’s people.

In her younger years, Bridgette was a high stepper on the drumline of the original Marching Thunder, founded by Houston Rockets Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy. Under Calvin’s direction and guidance, the drumline traveled throughout Houston and surrounding cities giving children like Bridgette the opportunity to share their energy, and enthusiasm with countless people. The was a participant until she aged out of the program. Those memories became a special part of Bridgette’s life story.

Bridgette was a proud graduate of Jack Yates High School. She continued her education at Hargest Vocational School, where she became certified as a medical assistant. Bridgette spent several years working in the medical field, where her caring nature and desire to help others was evident. Bridgette assisted children with mobility challenges. She found this very rewarding. Her nurturing spirit extended to her own family as well, as she provided medical assistance and care for her mother when needed.

Bridgette’s personality was uniquely her own. She was quiet until she had something to say. When motivated, she loved to laugh. She also loved getting mani-pedis and Mexican food, her favorite was beef enchiladas. Bridgette enjoyed shopping for Sunday suits, sun dresses and the latest perfume. At Church she was known as being a flashy dresser, never afraid to express herself through the latest fashion.

Bridgette was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles LeRoy and Selena Rose Roberts, and by her cherished cousin and friend, Monica Moore.

Bridgette will forever be cherished by her family and remembered for her quiet caring spirit. Her unforgettable presence will remain in the hearts of those who really knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and family to cherish her memory, Jehara Keener and Fred Daniel Gibson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, first, second and third-generation cousins, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Though Bridgette is no longer with us in physical form, her memory will live on through the lives she touched, the stories we tell, the special moments we remember, the love we shared.
