Carolyn Faye Alexander, born October 30, 1953, to Norris and Cedalia Simon, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.
Carolyn was united in marriage to Johnny Alexander on February 25, 1977, and together they shared 49 years of love, commitment, and partnership. She was blessed and honored to be the mother of three children : Shaunta Simon, Johnny Jerod Alexander (departed), and Latoya Alexander.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Shatavia Simon, Erica Oliver, Christina Sauvageau, Shaundraya Oliver, Mike King, Jasmine Alexander, Journee Collier, and Saige Kelley. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Roderick Richards, Semaj Scranton, Makayla King, Malique King, Devante Powell, Kaylee Tolliver, Camiece Hunter, Jayceon Hunter, and Sevyn Gerald-John, and Jai Alexander
Carolyn was a pillar of strength within her family, cherishing a host of nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones, many of whom she nurtured through her lifelong work in childcare. As the founder of Loving for a Living Daycare, she dedicated over 40 years to caring for and shaping the lives of countless children in her community. Her passion for helping others extended far beyond her own family, leaving an enduring impact on generations.
She attended Sanderson Elementary School, Key Middle School, and Kashmere High School, where she began building the foundation of a life rooted in perseverance and compassion.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Ruth Charles; Debra Shrophire (Maurice); and Donna ray Simon (Ethelee). Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Cedalia Simon, siblings Brenda Clemons, Norris Simon, Cynthia Gonzales, and Anthony Wayne Simon.
Carolyn will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched. Her kindness, strength, and dedication to family and community will live on in all who knew and loved her.
