Obituary

Chasity was born on July 27, 1980, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and raised in Houston. She was full of life, known for her vibrant personality, infectious humor, and ability to make everyone feel special. She had a unique way of touching hearts through kindness, laughter, and genuine connection.

A proud graduate of Alief Elsik High School (Class of 1998), Chasity earned her degree in Accounting and Management Information from Prairie View A&M University, and later, an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Chasity began her career in 2000 as a student housing professional at Prairie View A&M University, where she served as a Community Assistant at University College. During her time there, she was introduced to American Campus Communities (ACC), where she was recruited upon graduation. Over the next 21 years, Chasity steadily advanced within the company, ultimately becoming a Senior Business Manager. In this role, she oversaw the financial operations for the ACC's Cullen Oaks community at the University of Houston and played a vital role in training Business Managers across the company's national on-campus portfolio—from the University of California, Irvine to Princeton University.

As we bid farewell to Chasity and gather to honor her memory, let us take comfort in the knowledge that she is at peace, surrounded by the love of her heavenly Father. Chasity's life may have come to an end, but her legacy will endure for generations to come, a testament to the power of love to transcend even the boundaries of mortality.

She leaves behind a lifetime of love and cherished memories with her devoted parents, Clyde and Jacque McKenzie, and her beloved daughter, Madyson Horton. She is also survived by her twin brother, Chauncey Taylor (Rachel); her sister, Jazmyne Burren (Darius); two nieces, Riley and Regan Taylor; and two nephews, Sean Clyde Burren and Daniel "D.J." Burren.

Chasity shared unbreakable bonds with two women who were like sisters to her in every way—her cousin, Paige Johnson-Kitchen, and her best friend, Karmin Davis.

She will also be remembered with love by her aunts: Althea Mae Cutright (Dallas, TX), Cynthia Hawkins (Wichita Falls, TX), and Martha Iglehart (Austin, TX); her uncles: Michael Gene Williams (Wichita Falls, TX), Freddie Harris (Idabel, OK), Maynard Hawkins (Wichita Falls, TX), and Ricky Bogan (Seattle, WA); along with a host of cousins and a multitude of dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
