Obituary

Constance Raye Thompson, affectionately known as "Connie," "Mama," "Granny," and "Great Granny"  was born on March 15, 1944, to Dewey and Miriam Hadnott.

Connie attended schools within the Houston Independent School District and later pursued her passion for cosmetology at Franklin Beauty School. After obtaining her license, she proudly established her own beauty salon from her home while also working at Walgreens Pharmacy. She later enrolled at Hargest Vocational College, where she earned her Medical Assistant Diploma. Connie went on to serve as a Medical Assistant for the City of Houston, retiring in 2008 after years of dedicated service.

Connie accepted Christ at a young age and faithfully attended her local church. She later united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a devoted member until her passing.
Connie had a deep love for gardening and found joy in cooking, playing solitaire, and traveling with her son Rodney. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Her loud, boisterous laugh was infectious and could light up any room she entered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Miriam Hadnott; her son, Clyde Hadnott; her husband, Vernon Thompson; and her brothers, Richard Hadnott, Harold Hadnott, and Chester Hadnott.

Connie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Adraine Hayes, Rodney Croorks, and Donta Randle (Tickie); her siblings, Lawrence, Wayne, Carl, Diane, Mattie, Michael, Robert, JoAnn, and Gregory; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
