Obituary

"A Time to be born"

Cornelia E. Barnes was born June 9, 1940, in Houston Texas.  Her parents George and Lillian preceded her in death.  She was the third of four siblings.  She is survived by her youngest sibling, Neosha.

"A Time to Learn"

Cornelia ('Baby Sister") attended public school and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, graduated from Manpower Business School and Hughes Business School.  She was also a licensed Cosmetologist.

"A Time to work"

Cornelia ("Connie") worked 35 years at Texas Southern University, managing the copy center and worked more than 62 year as church secretary at Christian Home MBC.

"A Time to plant"

Cornelia ("CB") confessed Christ at an early age.  She was a gifted Orator, appearing on program often.  She served as Youth Matron, Director of Vacation Bible School, and 1st Vice-President of the Women's Ministry.

"A Time to die"

Cornelia ("Dumplin") went home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2024.  Her older sister, Geraldine and her brother, George also proceeded her in death.

"A Time of peace"

Cornelia is now at peace, resting in the love of Jesus Christ.  Those left to cherish her memory – sons, Ronnie (Esther) and Michael (Stephanie), nephew (James "Bo"), seven grandchildren including her "Princess" JaLeesa (Joshua), six great-grandchildren and a great host of "God Sent" sisters, brothers, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her "other parents", Otha and Cathy Rachel.
