Craig Anthony Torry was born on September 12, 1954 in Houston, Texas. He attended Houston public schools and graduated from Evan E. Worthing Senior High School in 1973 where he was a beloved classmate. He pursued an accounting degree at Texas Southern University, graduating in 1977. From then, Craig led a successful career before starting accounting firm Winston Lee & Company with his mother Geraldine.

Craig shares his son, Colbert Carl Torry, with his former wife Valerie Breedlove.

Throughout his life, Craig had various hobbies, from long distance running to cheering at TSU Tigers games. He was also a proud parent volunteer and church volunteer.

Craig is preceded in death by his parents Carl E. Torry and Geraldine Torry, and stepfather Alfred B. Coleman. He leaves his loyal and trusted son, Colbert Torry, his loving siblings Carla Torry and Christopher Torry, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
