"AN AMAZING JOURNEY"

"I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE,  I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH:"

2 TIMOTHY 4:7a

Curtis Cormier was one of seven children born to Venora and Felton Cormier; and one of two born to Frank Young on November 20, 1957, in Houston, Texas.  Curtis entered grade school at Emmett J. Scott, Lamar Fleming Jr. High School, and moved on to Kashmere High School where he enjoyed playing sports.

After leaving school, Curtis went to work at S.P. Railroad where he advanced to an A. P. foreman.  Eventually, Curtis transitioned to a career in professional transporting for Allied Moving Company for more than 30 years.

Curtis began his spiritual journey at Miles Chapel A.M.E.  He later moved to Houston First Baptist, and was baptized in 2018, and remained for over 30 years. There he ministered to the homeless populations and worked in the food pantry.  Finally, Curtis followed the leading of the Lord, taking the same path of his eldest sister, Beaunnie Pritchett, and united with Latter Day Deliverance Revival Church under watch care.

He leaves to cherish his memory daughters: Michelle Kirathe, Cristian Valencia (Jeremy); brothers: Sanders Bracy, Johnny Bracy, and Melvin Cormier; sister: Francis Stringfellow; sons-in-law: John Wachira, Lathon Villareal; grandchildren: Debbie Jackson, Juvon Larry, Miracle Donovan, Faith Villareal, Annie Bell Villareal, Jeremy Valencia, Jr., Jackson Kirathe, Nikaria Padron, Micah Padron, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Venora Morgan Cormier; fathers: Felton Cormier and Frank Young (biological); daughters: Aisha R. Wachira, Shanelle Cormier; sisters: Beaunnie Pritchett, Peggy Brown, Cathy Young; grandson: Shaun Larry, Jr.
