Cynthia Ann Griffin-Ervin was born in Pineville, Louisiana on July 27ᵗʰ, 1962. The first daughter  of the late John and Emily Griffin. Cynthia was loving and kind with a heart of gold. She loved being  surrounded by family and friends, shopping and dining. At the age of 2 Cynthia moved to Houston,  Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended primary school at St. Episcopal School, she graduated from Madison High School in 1981 and later went on to pursue her education at The University of Houston. Cynthia was blessed with 2 beautiful children Briana and Bryce and 2 grandchildren Ira III and Ezra with Michael Ervin. Cynthia worked for Southwest Airlines before becoming a teacher at ABC East until her Multiple Sclerosis progressed and she decided to be a stay-at-home mom to care for her children. Cynthia was devoted to her children and grandchildren to the end of her days. Cynthia will be remembered for her beauty not only on the outside but the inside as well, her sense of fashion and how she held her head high despite the challenges of her everyday life.
