On Wednesday January 14, 1953, in Beaumont, Texas, the Lord blessed Freddie Lockett and Hazel Lockett-La Fleur with a baby boy. They named their blessing, Darnell Paul Lockett.

Darnell accepted Christ at an early age and recently rejoined Christian Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry Guillory.

Darnell was always on the move until his health slowed him down. When in good health he would get on his private limo (metro bus) and travel throughout the city. Darnell enjoyed playing dominoes, watching wrestling and listening to music. Darnell was lovingly given the nicknames of Papoose and Kat Williams by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patrice Lockett; his parents, Bervick and Hazel La Fleur; his father, Freddie Lockett and brother, Carl La Fleur. He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Barry Robinson, four grandchildren; Adrienne Thomas, Barry Robinson Jr., Christopher Robinson and Courtney Wilkins, and two great grandchildren, Kade Flannigan and Maddix Moore all of Houston, Tx; Three sisters: Diana Lockett-Jones (Willie Jones), Linda La Fleur and Pennisula La Fleur-Palmer, all of Houston, Tx. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
