Obituary

"To Everything there is a season, a time to be born…"Ecclesiastes 3:1

August 28, 1957 marked the birth of Daryl Glenn Evans to Arthur James Evans Jr. and Simmie Louise Evans in Houston, Texas. He was the youngest of four children born to this union.

"That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord…" Romans 10:9

He accepted Christ at an early age at Sunny side Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, TX.

"For I know the plans I have for you… " Jeremiah 29:11

Daryl attended Reynolds Elementary, Woodson Middle School and graduated from Worthing High School in 1976. He attended Texas Southern University, and Trade School where he received a certification in Auto Mechanics.

"They shall be one flesh.." Genesis 2:24

On March  24, 2017 , he married the love of his life, Tammy Lynn Selmon in Missouri City, Texas. He was a devoted husband and great provider. He was a stepfather to: Thomas Butler, Joneisha Colomb and Brenisha Colomb and a grandfather  to: Amarie, Jessie, Amarion, Jaheem, Nylan, Tariq, and Zayn.

Daryl  found his passion in Auto Mechanics. He was a master mechanic where he spent over 40 years perfecting his craft. He spent time working at Sear's, Private Mechanic Shops, and retired from the City of Houston's Fire Department as a master mechanic. He also spent countless hours restoring and rebuilding vintage vehicles. Recently winning awards for his work on a vintage 1979 Chevrolet Corvette.

On June 28, 2024, after a fruitful life, a vibrant heart stopped beating and hard-working hands were put to rest as Daryl Evans crossed into eternity. He has joined his father, Arthur James Evans Jr. as well as other love ones.

" I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course…" II Timothy 4:7

Left to celebrate his legacy is: His mother, Simmie Louise Evans. His devoted wife of 7 years, Tammy Lynn Evans . His siblings, Jacqueline Kirksey (Reginald), Arthur Craig Evans, Stanley Evans (Loretta), step-children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
