Parents: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Lillie Robinson Green DOB: January 19, 1950

Church: Attended Midway Missionary Baptist Church#1 where she accepted Jesus & was Baptized.

Later, she joined Midway Missionary Baptist Church#2.

Upon moving to Houston in 1967 she joined Mount Horeb MBC under Pastor Samuel H. Smith, Sr., with her husband, Joe Taylor, Sr. Later, she became a member of Lilly Grove MBC under Rev. Terry K. Anderson. She was a faithful parishioner until her health began to fail her. However, she has been able to enjoy and watch her church on television at 6am every Sunday since 2020.

High School: Booker T. Washington High, Shreveport, LA

Jack Yates Senior High, August 1967 Houston, TX beginning a Family Legacy. All five of her children are JY4LIFE graduates, too.

Love of her life Walter Joseph Ledet, Sr. November 14, 1990, married Until his sudden passing in 2003.

Promoted to Assistant Clerk for The Family Law Center (various courts)

Promoted to Head Clerk for Judge Henry George Schuble, Jr. for 25 years. I loved my work and my coworkers.

After 25 years laid off and began a new and successful career

On 9/14/1992 With the Harris County Hospital District (Now Harris Health) as A Timekeeper & later promoted to Data Entry clerk. Retired February 25, 2011

Enjoyed and took pride in being a Mother to her five children, and bonus son James Smith and all of her children’s friends.

Most important role came as Caretaker and Grandmother to her beloved grandson, Kameron DeShaun

Dickey June 15, 1991, until his passing in 2012.

She loved dancing; especially Zydeco, watching Westerns, Gangster Movies, Game Shows and all reality television on TLC, talking to her Best Girlfriends, listening to all music; especially old Motown, Lou Rawls was my favorite, watching comedy; especially Cedric the Entertainer, Ali Siddiq and attending church until her health began to fail her in 2015. She is a proud Ovarian Cancer Stage 3 Survivor of 23 years, and Triple Negative Breast Cancer Stage 3

Grandchildren: Kendal Wayne Blackshear, DeQuasha Monae Lenford, Ashley Elizabeth Pickens, Kealan Wayne Blackshear, Justin Smith (Shameika), Kolby Drew Archie, Darian LaShaye Taylor, Jessica Lillie Archie, Hannah Dianne Taylor, Elizabeth Ashley Taylor, and Caleb “The Taylor Man” William Taylor, Great-Granddaughters: Kataleya Elise Blackshear, Kaliyah Leilani Blackshear and Karmen Drew Archie, Sister-In-Law, Mrs. Lillie Washington of Shreveport, LA, Sister-In-Law, Ms. Marie Ledet of Houston, TX God-Daughters: Amryl Ali, Cynthia R. Wilson-Warfield, Dr. Jennifer L. Galaway, Tracy Lynn Shepherd-Jones, Gretta R. McClain-Gibbs, Vickie Walker Jones God-Sons: Charles Blackshear, Ronald Wilson, Rodney Lockett, Ricky Collier & James Lewis and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors on Daphne Street and Vanderheath Drive, and many surrogate children.
