Donald Raye
Fielder
Feb 4, 1948 — Dec 1, 2023
On December 1, 2023, Donald Raye Fielder transitioned from this earthly life to be with the Heavenly host.
On February 4, 1948, in Washington County, Texas, a beautiful curly hair baby boy was born to George and Ruby Mae Fielder, they named him Donald Raye. At a very early age, he gave his life to God and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Hancock at Union Hill Baptist Church. He grew up in Washington County, living with his grandparents, A.V. and Martha Sanders. He attended Public Schools in Washington County and later Brenham School District where he attended and graduated from Pickard High. After graduating, he moved to Houston to live with his mother. After moving to Houston, Texas he met the love of his life Loretta Tarver, on the 27th of June 1970, they were married and had 53 wonderful years together. Donald worked at Metropolitan Transit Authority MTA for 33 1/2 years before retiring in 2006.
His Church Affiliation was Christian Faith Baptist Church from 1987 under the leadership of Rev. T.H. Banks, until his passing then Rev. Roland Mouton Sr. Under Rev. Mouton, he was ordained as a Deacon, some people still call him "Deac." He served in various capacities within the church, including the male chorus, Financial Committee, and Anniversary Committee. He worked dutifully. After Rev. Mouton passing, he decided to move his membership to Silverlake under the leadership of Rev. Reginald DeVaughn whom he loved very much. When he could no longer attend Church in person, he made sure I pulled it up on live streaming, so he could watch him. He looked forward to watching his Pastor on live stream.
Waiting in Heaven is his parents, Ruby and George Fielder.
He leaves his most precious memories to his wife of 53 years, Loretta, his brother A.V. Rogers (Shirley) and sister, Lois Fielder. His special nephew Rodney Fielder, a host of lovely nieces and nephews and nine God Children; Jasmine, Meghan, Alge'rae, Ashley, A'darius, Theodie, Monty and of course little Kree and Kross. In addition, he is remembered by his special sister-in-law Ernestine Chivers and brother-in-law William Charles Tarver (Sally)
