Dottie Gibson was born to the late Ben & Rheutine Campbell in Galveston, TX. She graduated from Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX. She attended college in Los Angles, CA. She was married to her late husband, Larfred Gibson, of 58 years.
At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ as a Methodist at 25 years old. She later united with the East Macadonia America Baptist Church in February 1960 where she worked with Sr. Mission as a Secy. In May 1997, she joined Olivet Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. B. Wesley Austin Jr, Pastor. She worked with the Mission, Sermon on The Move, and the Senior Usher Board. She joined the Eastern Star in January 1991, Deborah Chapter #I - Vashti Grand Chapter.
Dottie leaves to cherish her memories of four children (Jennifer Bedford, Sheila Gilbert, Thristle R. Gibson, & Aldridge Gibson), Rasheedah Kennamore (granddaughter-raised), nine grand children, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-greatgrandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and amazing friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
