Douglas E. Davis Sr. was Born on July 29, 1959, in Madisonville, Texas to Betty J Davis and the late Melvin E Davis Sr.
Douglas was Baptised at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
Douglas better known as "Doug" grew up in a close-knit community where he attended Madisonville High School. An exceptional athlete, he excelled in football, track, and basketball, showcasing his talent and determination on the field and court. His hard work and dedication earned him a scholarship to Blinn College, where he continued his football career and further developed his passion for the sport.
In pursuit of a meaningful career, Doug joined the Houston Fire Department, where he served with honor and courage for 23 years. His commitment to public service and unwavering dedication to protecting his community made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals. Doug was known for his bravery, compassion, and camaraderie with his fellow firefighters, embodying the spirit of teamwork and resilience.
Doug was a proud father to three sons: Douglas Davis Jr., Takee Urobii Davis, and Thornton Washington. He cherished his role as a father and took immense pride in supporting his sons through their endeavors, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he always made time for meaningful moments with them.
In addition to his sons, Doug was a beloved grandfather to ten grandchildren: Jaylon Takee Urobii Davis, Jordon Takee Urobii Davis, Jakobi Takee Urobii Davis, Jasmine Nicole Davis, Douglas Edward Davis III, Deja Ann Davis, Destiny Jewel Davis, Lamaria Washington, Lamhia Washington, and Nala Washington. His grandchildren were a source of immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
A man of great character, Doug was known for his warm smile, infectious laughter, and generous spirit. He touched the lives of many, serving as a mentor and
friend to those around him. His legacy will continue to live on through the memories shared by family, friends, and colleagues who were fortunate enough to
know him.
Douglas is preceded in life by his sister Eyeka Leoni Davis (Faith Eyenna Forney)
