Dr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his parents, Carey Hawkins, Sr. and Ida Bell Hawkins, and his brothers, Carey Hawkins Jr. and Frank Hawkins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, LaVersa Hawkins; his children, James Hawkins (Charinsa), Antoinette Taylor, Lauren Dunn (Arthur), Aaron Hawkins (Nisha), Kimberly Council (Lee), and Kirand Patel (Jenny), his God-sent son; Two God daughters; Amani Adams and Taylor Bonnett; thirteen cherished grandchildren; his siblings, Sandra Hawkins-Beal (Robert), Keith Hawkins, Letillian Hawkins, Everett Hawkins (Beverly), and Debra Stewart; along with a host of in-laws, aunt, nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, colleagues, and the many patients whose lives he touched.

The family extends a special and heartfelt thank you to his devoted wife, LaVersa Hawkins, for her extraordinary love, unwavering dedication, and compassionate care throughout his health journey. They also express their sincere appreciation to his medical team, Dr. O Lerey Johnson, Dr. Jenny Lai, and Dr. Eugene Lai, for their exceptional care and support.
