Edith Alexander Lewis was born August 13, 1956, in Pasadena, TX to the union of W T Alexander and Jean Cobb Alexander. She passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on December 14, 2024 at the age of 68 years.
She was raised in Houston, TX and baptized at Mount Moriah Baptist Church at an early age and was a memberat The Church at Bethel's Family until her health failed her. She was educated in Houston Independent Schools and graduated from Evan E. Worthing High School in May, 1974. She furthered her education at Texas Southern University and was employed as a Nurse for 30 years with a career specializing in geriatrics. During her career, she provided care to patients in nursing homes throughout Houston and surrounding areas, as well as those in need of home healthcare.
To know Edith was to love her! As she lived to improve the lives of others, she had a fond love for playing cards with family and friends. If something was on her mind, she was going to let you know. She was a force to be reckoned with and was known for her passion for playing cards, listening to 70's music and watching her favorite teams: The Houston Rockets and the Texans! It must also be said that, "More than anything, Edith loved to be surrounded by her family and friends!"
She was preceded in death by her parents, W T Alexander and Jean Cobb Alexander and her sister, Debra K. Alexander Halsey. Those who are left with cherished memories of her are her loving husband, Robert W. Lewis;Her daughters, Deidra K. Perry (Marque) and Diondra K.Lewis; step-daughter Andrea Fobbs; Three grandsons,Marque JR, Marshall, and Matthew; Three step grandchildren, Jalen, Jeremiah, and Jordyn; One brother, Ronald Alexander, One sister, Trecina Washington;special niece, Constance Moore and a host of relatives, family and friends.
