Obituary

Edward Jefferson, Jr. was born on July 6, 1949 in Wharton, TX, to Edward Jefferson, Sr. and Senora Edwards Jefferson. From an early age, he accepted Christ and became a devoted  member of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as an usher.

In 2018, Edward joined Image Church in Cypress, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Ogletree.

At Image Church, he played an integral role in the congregation, serving on the set-up and  tear-down team, as a greeter, and as a founding board trustee. His commitment to his faith led him to be baptized once again in 2018, as he sought a deeper understanding of its true meaning.

Edward attended schools in the Houston Independent School District, growing up in Fifth Ward and receiving his early education at Bruce Elementary School and E.O. Smith Jr. High. He later attended THE Phillis Wheatley High School, proudly graduating with the Class of 1968. His pursuit of higher  education led him to Texas Southern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial  Education in 1973.

Professionally, Edward was dedicated to serving his community through his work. He began his career in manufacturing at Texas Instruments before moving on to PGI. He later joined Dril-Quip, an oil field equipment supplier in Harris County, Texas, where he worked until his  retirement in 2016.

On June 14, 2003, Edward entered holy matrimony with the love of his life, Adda Batie Jefferson.

Their marriage, a divine union brought together by God, was filled with love and devotion for 21 wonderful years. Edward took great pride in being a father to his one and only son, Knerone  Jefferson, whom he cherished with all his heart.

Edward is preceded in death by his Grandparents: Early and Julia Edwards; and Parents: Edward Jefferson Sr. and Senora Jefferson. Edward leaves behind his Wife: Adda Jefferson,  Son: Knerone Jefferson (Pamela), Grandkids: Christian, Trinity, and Greyson, Sister: Eddie Mae Jackson, Sisters in law: Rita Williams and Sherry Batie. Aunt: Annie Mae Edwards. Special  Cousin-Brother: Claude Edwards (Vanita) and a
host of other relatives and friends.
