Coleman
May 23, 1936 — Sep 10, 2024
"I came to the end of the road and the sun has set for me. I want no rights in a gloom filled room, so don't cry for my soul is set free."
Elnita made her peaceful transition on Tuesday, September 10th.
Born in Grapeland, Texas on May 23, 1936, to Charlie & Bettie Coleman; Houston ultimately became home for the Colemans. Family was very important to Elnita , especially her three children Wanda, Ricky and Michael. And a very special niece, Michelle, whom she treated as her own.
She began her walk with Christ as a faithful member of New Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Walter R. Cooper. Being a solid fixture, having the role of the church Secretary; she additionally was in multiple auxiliaries. Elnita's dedication was indeed notable. She loved the Lord and that remained on open display. Especially when it came to extending help to others, be it a meal or providing someone with transportation; she was obedient in her service.
Proceeded in her passing by both parents and all three siblings: Ed Lee; Iva Lee; and Maggie Jean.
Her physical presence will missed, but her light and memory will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
