Obituary

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  2nd Timothy chapter 4 verse 7 and 8.

Erica Marie Watkins was born to the late Mr. Louis Watkins and Mrs. Debra (Malveaux) Watkins on December 05, 1979, in Houston, Texas. She was baptized and made her first communion into the Catholic faith at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Erica attended and graduated from the High School of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice in Houston, Texas. After completing high school, she commenced her career as an intern with the Houston Police Department on September 6, 1996. While working at HPD, Erica went back to school and took online classes at the University of Phoenix, where she received her Associate's Degree. After eight years of service, Erica decided to resign from her position to join Child Protective Services, dedicating her efforts to safeguarding families and promoting the well-being of every child in their care. From there, she pursued a career at HCA Hospital in Pearland, until her untimely passing.

Erica was known for her warm heart, unselfishness, and unwavering love for her family. Erica exhibited a sense of responsibility and compassion that defined her life. Her faith was the cornerstone throughout her life journey. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her daughters; her love for her family was immeasurable, and the warmth and kindness she shared will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Everyone loved her food, and her delicious pecan candies that were always made with love. Erica will be remembered for her joy for life, her beautiful smile, her playful and loving spirit, and the love she had for her family and friends.
