Born on June 29, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to the late Floyd & Rosalie Pickens, Sr., they named their firstborn of five children, Ernestine.

Education: Klein High School, Spring, Texas.

Marriage: She later in life married Richard Armstrong on December 5, 2013.

Church Affiliation: Joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where she accepted Christ at an early age (Pastor C L. Jackson, Sr.). She then united with Holy Way Bible Church in 2002 under the leadership of Pastor H. J. Harvey, faithfully serving in the Mission Board, the Choir, a Custodian, and as the leader of the Usher Ministry.

Profession: Ernestine was employed by Fuddruckers as a server for 15+ years. She was also employed at Southern Imports for more than 15 years as a cashier until she became ill and unable to work.

Preceded in Death: Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd & Rosalie Pickens, Sr; her maternal grandparents, Bridges and Clara Caleb; her paternal grandparents, Mandy and Minister Pickens, Sr; one sister: Evelyn Jean Pickens; on daughter: Lillie Mae Augustine; one brother: Michael Ray Pickens.

Survivors: She leaves to cherish memories of her six children: Monica Rachelle Pickens, Twalia Monique Pickens (Solomon Zepeda), Patricia Augustine, Madie Meredith, Shakisha Augustine, Ayesha Augustine Warner (Clifton Warner). One brother: Floyd Pickens, Jr.; one sister: Barbara Ann Durham; seventeen grandchildren (two not listed): Isis, Yaya, Nana, Rara Trinity, Dominique, El Shaadi, Breanna, Ronnie, Kwanita, Monique, Thomas, Travis, Channell, Cameron; six great grandchildren: Mia, Ava, Xavier, Latina, Andrew, Jaden; and three nephews: Anthony Spencer, Jr., Darrell Durham, Jr., Eric Pickens.
