Obituary for Everett "Bubba" Butler

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Everett Butler was born December 23, 1957, to Mr. Everett Sr. and Mrs. Annie (Davis) Butler. He was the 5th child of a sibling group of nine.  At a very young age, he united with the Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Will Simon, Jr., accepted Christ as his personal Savior, and was baptized.

Everett, known by his family nickname "Bubba", had a 'laid back' personality. He was a good listener, patient, and often navigated life challenges with ease.  Once, he was challenged with physical therapy following an illness.  Although it was painful experience, which he dreaded, he tolerated the process with a sense of strength and calmness that epitomized his steadfast faith and trust in God.

On January 3, 2026, Everett answered the Heavenly Father's call to his Heavenly home, joining his parents, sisters Suzette Butler, Patricia Butler Pipkins, Everlyn Butler Ferguson, his brother Jerry Butler Sr., and grandparents Jimmy and Willie Davis.

He leaves behind to honor his life, sisters, Nancy Griffin (Santee), Linda Vaughn (Edgar), Wilma Miller (Stanley) of El Campo, Texas; brother, Keith Butler (Patricia); aunts, Susie Harris and Violet Rose, along with numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
