Florence
Holley
Jul 27, 1938 — Dec 31, 2023
Florence Holley was born on July 27, 1938, to the proud parents of Charlie and Ida Warren (Austin) in Houston, Texas. Florence grew up in the Woodland Heights and later moved to the Sunnyside area after marriage. She attended Brock Elementary and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, Texas.
Florence married her high school sweetheart, Len Porter Holley on June 21, 1957. Florence and Len P. were married for over 66 years. They raised one son Len E. and three daughters Catherine, Christine and Cheryl.
Florence loved traveling, spending time with her family, and hosting family gatherings. She dedicated her life to nurturing her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and others. She is affectionately called Granny by all. She was a great cook and lovingly opened her home to all that visited.
Having lived a full and rich life, Florence entered eternal rest on December 31, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Chery Gassaway.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband Len P. Holley, one son Len E. Holley (Vickie), two daughters Catherine R. Jones (David) and Christine Turner. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of extended family.
