George Allen
Bryant
Jan 12, 1944 — Nov 9, 2023
Peace I leave with you; my peace 1 give you. 1 do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your
hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ~ John 14:27
George Allen Bryant was born to Robert and Willie Mae Bryant on January 12, 1944 in New Waverly, TX.
As a young child, he was introduced to Jesus Christ at Jasper Missionary Baptist Church in New Waverly,
Texas. During his teenage years, George began working as a lumber truck driver, and later retired as a
longshoreman for the Houston Ship Channel.
As a young man, George hustled to provide a living for himself and his family. However, by middle age,
and after rededicating his life to Christ, George lived a life of integrity and valor.
He was a man's man. He cared for his family's property in the country, and was a skilled outdoors man.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands. As a Deacon, he would often be found lending
a helping hand to his fellow parishioners at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church.
His greatest joy was being the patriarch and protector of his family. As Dad, Daddy, Grandpa, and
PawPaw, George was honored, respected, and deeply loved by his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Willie Mae Bryant, his brothers; Willie, Bob,
Sylvester, John, Jimmy, Roy, and Billie, and his sisters; Barbara Jean, Ruby, and Tyler.
He is survived by his first wife, Hester M. Anderson, and their children; Sonji Dixon (Eugene), Troi Alan
Bryant I. (Jackie), Laquita Bryant-Jenkins (Ittriss), and second wife, Zanta Bryant, and their child, Laquith
Thamas Emk (Keith). His grandchildren are Brittani Davis (DaRell), Davis; Marco Forbes, DeAndre Dixon
(Henrietta), Jesse Tillman, Jr. (Whitney), Troi Bryant II, Zeanna Emk, DeVante Dixon, Ervin Bryant, Keahra
Emk, Na'Zyia Jenkins, Nyla Jenkins, Keith Emk II, and Rachel Bellamy (Howard). His great grandchildren
are Jyaire Tillman, Jesse Tillman III, Aden Tillman, Landen Powell, Micah Patton, Zaiden Emk, Skylar
Dixon, Sage Dixon, Troi Alan Bryant III, Haleigh Bellamy, and Ryan Bellamy. His surviving siblings are
Robert R. H. Bryant (Yvonne) and Curtis Bryant. His best friend and nephew-brother Chauncy Andrews
also remains to cherish his memory.
A host of other relatives, neighbors, church members, and friends near and far hold George deeply inn
their hearts.
