Mrs. Geraldine Coleman was the only child from the union of Mrs. Johnnie Richardson and Mr. Oliver Richardson of Houston, Texas. Geraldine professed her love for Christ at an early age. She united with Fourth Missionary Baptist Church as a young child. She received her education from Houston public schools and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School. She also attended Texas Southern University. Geraldine was employed by Kellogg Company, the Teamsters, several doctors and retired from Houston Independent School District. She loved to cook and serve delicious food; she also enjoyed gardening and completing projects around her home.
Geraldine was united in marriage with Carl E Torry in December 1953. From that union three children were born, Craig, Carla and Christopher. Later she was married to Alfred B. Coleman for 51 years. Geraldine was proceeded by her husband, Alfred B Coleman, her parents, Hampton and Johnnie Mitchell, and her brothers Douglas and Hampton Mitchell. Geraldine is survived by her brother, Thomas W. Mitchell (Cherry), and her children. Her legacy will live on through her children, her grandchildren, Austin McElroy (Christina), Tayler Torry, and Colbert Torry; her bonus grandchildren: Paul Guillory (Theresa), Steven Guillory, and Stacey Guillory Moore (Mike) great grandchildren: Bishop, Geraldine, and Charles McElroy and a host of relatives and friends. She will be truly be missed by all who knew her.
