Obituary

On the seventeenth day of December nineteen hundred fifty-seven, God created a strong and loving soul through the blessed union of the late Marshall Lange, Sr. and Ozell Davis Lange in Pattison, Texas (Waller County). Through her parents' guidance, Gladys Marie Lange grew to be a loving, fearless, woman of faith.  However, on the ninth day of December, God decided to call Gladys from labor to rest.

Her Faith…Gladys accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a loyal and faithful member of Saint Anthony Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. James Williams and now Bishop Matthew Jones, Sr. where she remained a member until her health failed. Sister Gladys Lange to the members of Saint Anthony would love it when she volunteered her cooking skills to assist with the church fish fries and other church events.

Her Love….On June 19, 1975, Gladys and Kenneth welcomed their baby boy Rodney (Big Mix) Dewayne Lange. Rodney was her pride, joy, and baby! In March of 2005, Gladys met Willie Taylor whom she loved dearly.  The two shared eight-teen years of love and enjoyed watching sports, game shows, and playing the Lotto hoping to hit the jackpot.

Her Career…Gladys was well known as a Lead Cook!  She loved cooking while working at Wyatt's Cafeteria and Denny's Restaurant.   She maintained her career at Denny's until she retired in the late 2010's.

Gladys was preceded in death by her son Rodney Dewayne Lange, parents, Marshall Lange, Sr. and Ozell Lange Davis; brothers, Clarence Lange, Marshall Lange, Jr., Forest Lee Lange, sisters, Wilma J. Lange-Perkins, Ruth Davis, Jerrye Griffins, Vanessa Lange-McFarland; brothers-in-law, Charles Perkins, Jonathan H. McFarland, Sr., George Johnson; sisters-in-law, Betty Davis, Joyce Davis, nephew – Edward (Rabbit) Lange.
