Gloria Elaine Jordan Craddock was born on March 28, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to Otis and Peggy Jordan. Affectionately known as “Joanne” by her family, she was the firstborn child and grandchild, holding a special and cherished place in their hearts from the very beginning.
After graduating from Jack Yates High School in 1967, Gloria married Clarence Baltrip. They were blessed with two children: Michelle, who returned to the arms of the Lord shortly after birth, and Anthony Donnell, who was born two years later.
In 1998, Gloria’s heart and home grew even larger when she was blessed with two more children: her daughter, Marika Joyce Baltrip, and her son, B’aashua Ronel Baltrip. She loved them both dearly and took great pride in being their mother.
She later married Othel Craddock Jr. on March 28, 2010, continuing her journey of love, partnership, and family.
Gloria dedicated many years of service to Exxon Corporation and American General as a Data Entry Clerk. In 2006, she began a new chapter with the West Gulf Maritime Association (WGMA), serving as a Data Entry Operator and Front Desk Receptionist until her retirement in March 2017.
A woman of growing faith, Gloria joined the Garden Oaks Church of Christ after accepting Christ in 2025. Her church family remained dear to her heart even as her health prevented her from active service.
She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and love of life. Gloria was fun-loving, and known for her beauty and grace—especially on the dance floor. An avid dancer and a skilled card player, she found joy in bringing people together, whether through laughter, music, or a friendly game of Bid Whist.
Gloria transitioned peacefully on April 25, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Perkins; her father, Otis Jordan Sr.; her stepfather, Reed Perkins Sr.; and her stepmother, Rosella Jordan-Walker.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Othel Craddock Jr.; her sons, Anthony Baltrip and B’aashua Baltrip; her daughter, Marika Baltrip; and her granddaughter, Anari Baltrip. She is also survived by her siblings: Diane Francesco (Michael), Virginia Jordan, Otis Jordan Jr. (Cheryl), Linda Underwood (Claude), Sabra Crawford (Harold), Antoinette Jackson (Stacey), Connie Jones, Remonia Richardson, Reed Perkins Jr., and Tanya Staggers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
