Gloria Bell
Miller
Sep 18, 1956 — Oct 31, 2025
On September 18, 1956, Gloria Bell Miller entered the world to Ola Mae and Calvin Miller. She was the fourth child and was deeply loved by her parents and siblings. Gloria was curious about the world from an early age and had her sights set on traveling the world and leaving her mark on society. Gloria attended Ross Sterling High School in Houston, along with her siblings, where she met many friends. She loved fashion and aspired to be a model, so she had her parents enroll her in Barbizon Modeling School, where she tried her hand at modeling. She developed the skill and poise of a model and remained fashionable and poised all her life. Ultimately, Gloria earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, a field in which she excelled.
Modeling may have been a passion, but it was her desire for God and being a servant that guided her daily life. She was baptized at an early age by her father, Rev. C.L. Miller. She sang with her sisters throughout her life. She was the Soprano with an angelic voice. When her father established Charity Baptist Church, she attended and worked in the church. In 2004, while attending Second Mile Ministries, she rededicated her life to Christ. Finally, in 2008, she found her forever church home and choir family at The Fountain of Praise.
While the work she did was important, she loved her daughters, Erica Miller and Crystal Jackson, and her grandson, Amir Shuku. Her relationship with her family was important to her. She leaves her daughters and grandson to cherish her memories, along with her sister, Belinda Washington, brother, Calvin Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends. She is joining her mother, Ola Mae Thorn Miller; father, Rev. C.L. Miller; sister, Diane Bailey (Miller); and brother, Milton Harper.
