Gwendolyn Ann
Myers
Mar 7, 1952 — Dec 13, 2024
God, in his infinite wisdom, has seen fit to call from our midst, a servant. We accept God's will and reflect on the beautiful life of our beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her death gives us cause to think not so much about the meaning of death but about the importance of life.
Ms. Gwendolyn Ann Myers, affectingly known as Gwen, was born to the late Mr. John Allen
Myers and Mrs. Odile (Chargois) Malveaux on March 07, 1952, in Abbeville, Louisiana. She was baptized at an early age and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Gwen attended and graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas. After high school, she began working in various industrial professions.
She was a kind, caring, and giving person, a friend who always put her family and friends' needs before hers. Gwen enjoyed cooking, watching the Dallas Cowboys, gardening, and traveling. She was the family historian who enjoyed passing down family stories and would always share pictures and make connections between the relatives. Gwen loved fishing and was always game to take her nieces and nephews along with her. She was an avid animal lover and adored her dogs "Fur Babies" (Bossy and Sassy).
Gwen welcomed everyone with open arms and never met a stranger. She was always game for good conversation, sharing food, and enjoying a great cup of coffee with lots of laughter and love.
We know the Lord is truly blessing Gwen, and the angels are rejoicing that another one of His children have returned home.
Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, John Allen Myers, and her mother, Odile (Chargois) Malveaux, stepfather Frank Malveaux Jr., her sister Debra (Malveaux) Watkins and grandparents Martin and Laura Chargois Sr., Cecil Page, and Arthur "Jelly" Dupree.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sisters, Barbara Hollins, Wanda Gray, Francida (Malveaux) Echegini, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, loving neighbors and friends.
