Harvey Mark Duplechain, born on October 14, 1956, in Houston, Texas, was the third of five children born to Lawrence and Mary Duplechain. Throughout his childhood, Harvey excelled in sports, demonstrating remarkable talent in baseball, basketball, and football. He graduated proudly from Evan E. Worthing High School in 1975, where he distinguished himself as a standout Defensive End for the Worthing Colts. Following high school, he attended Texas Southern University.

Harvey dedicated 35 years of his life to Kroger, where he served with distinction as a grocery manager. At the age of 26, he was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Ravonna, and four years later, welcomed a son, Kourtney.

An avid sports enthusiast, Harvey found joy in bowling, watching various sports, washing his automobiles and participating in family gatherings. However, the title he cherished most was that of grandfather to his six grandchildren: Jade, Cody, Donovan, Kourtney Jr., Winter, and Kennydi. His unwavering support was evident at every cheer competition, football game, basketball match, and track meet, even as his health declined. He often sat outside the gate in his truck, watching his grandchildren play little league football, demonstrating his dedication and love. His spirited presence at these events-filled with cheers, encouragement, and sideline coaching-made him a memorable figure in their lives.

Harvey passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, surrounded by his family and listening to his favorite songs. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Duplechain Sr.; his daughter, Adrienne Theresa Williams; and son-in-law, Shederick Renard Blackmon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Williams Duplechain; daughter, Ravonna Duplechain; son, Kourtney (Ebony) Duplechain Sr.; grandchildren Jade Tolliver, Cody Wiley-Hodge, Donovan Blackmon, Kourtney Duplechain Jr., Winter Blackmon, and Kennydi Duplechain; and siblings Sherral (Bruce) Tolliver, Lawrence Jr. (Patricia) Duplechain, Bridget (Yul) Hollingsworth, and Jared (Val) Duplechain and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends,

Harvey's legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering support will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
