Mr. Hollis James Smith Jr. "Spanky" was born on May 28, 1956, in Houston Texas to Hollis (sr.) and Erma Jean smith. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School and graduated class of 1974. After graduation he attended Texas Tech college, there he decided to serve his country and enlisted into the United States Air Force from September of 1979 thru December 1982. After serving his country he was employed with Houston Hobby Auto Auction.

Hollis was proceeded in death by his parents; Hollis and Erma Jeanie Smith, Stepfather Johnny bubba Jackson, brothers Ronald "Red," and Lawerence "Yanky," Nephew Troy Taylor, Lawerence Smith jr, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

On Tuesday February 11, 2025 "Spanky" transitioned into eternal rest. He leaves to mourn his passing; sisters Shirley Smith, Ruby Smith (Kenneth), Angela Achan and James Etta Wade. Brother Steve Smith (Lisa) and a loving companion Shelia "Dinky" Edwards.
