James Carol
Etienne Sr
Aug 8, 1942 — Dec 15, 2025
James C. Etienne, known to some as "Uncle Pete" was born August 8, 1942, in Grand Coteau, Louisiana to the late Williams and Francis Mayfield Etienne. Since a little boy he had the love for one day to be a truck driver and guess what; he did drive 18 wheelers cross country with new cars for several companies but settled with Jack Cooper Transport for 35+ years after he came home from the Army. He was a proud Army Man and Veteran. As years passed, he developed a love for Law Enforcement. He worked serval years under the leadership of the late Constable A. B. Chambers, then under the leadership of Constable Mae Walker. He also worked under the leadership of the late Constable Ruben Davis. After Constable Mae Walker retired, he worked with now Constable James "Smokey" Phillips. He was a member of NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement); the NAACP and a Lifelong Philanthropist.
James was the youngest of 6 siblings. He was a devout Catholic. He started his day with prayers, devotion, and the Holy Rosary. The practice of these things helped him sustain through his entire life. He was a Mason, and Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a loyal member of St. Lukes Evangelistic Catholic Church.
James was my rock, my best friend, and the love of my life. His laughter filled our home with kindness of us, and his kindness touched everyone. Even though my heart aches, our incredible story lives on in me. We were a team. My love is so strong death can't break it. He was my safe harbor. Thank you for our beautiful life together. James fought hard during his long illness. He fought a good fight, he has finished the race; he kept the faith; he was tired, God heard him and now has carried him home. James was a Soldier.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife. We have been together 28 years; daughters, Cynthis Senegal (Keith),. Delora M. (Jamal); son, Stephon (he is in the Air Force) sisters, Anna Mae Martin, Bernice Guillory, and a host of nieces, and nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Francis Etienne, his son James Williams. Our journey is not and will never be ove
