Obituary

Jeanette Elaine Scott Hardin was born on September 19, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Curtis and Carol Scott. She was the first of five children and a loving sister to Joyce, Curtis, Juanita (Wallace) Moore, and George (Eloise).

Jeanette was raised in Franklin, Louisiana, where she was baptized at an early age by Rev. Buckery at Mount Zion Baptist Church. She attended school in the St. Mary Parish School District and was a devoted member of the drill team, where her spirit and energy shined.

She was married to the late Harold Roberson, and from this union they were blessed with three sons: Myron (Tracey) Roberson, Harold (Cindy) Roberson, and Byron Roberson as well as her daughter who proceeded her in death Nichole Natasha Maria Evette Phillips. Houston Texas, the place that would become her home and the center of her lifelong service to others. She later remarried and was preceded in death by Curtis James Hardin.

During her years in Houston, Jeanette touched countless lives through her generosity, compassion, and unwavering willingness to give back to her community. Over the years, she opened both her home and her heart, taking in several people and offering love, support, and a place of refuge when it was needed most. She was known for her big heart, her kindness, and her larger-than-life personality. She made everyone feel loved and welcomed no matter what she or they were going thru at the time. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she helped, loved, and inspired.

Jeanette had a deep love for music and dancing and was truly the life of the party. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved drinking Coca-Cola and visiting the thrift store, as she fondly called it. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Jeanette held multiple positions throughout her life, including employment with Howard Johnson Hotels, Jack and Jill Nursery, and the Houston Independent School District. She was known for her strong work ethic and the genuine care she showed to others. She was always willing to help, encourage, and uplift those around her.

Jeanette's legacy lives on through her loving family. Her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and all who were blessed to know her. She was survived by her beloved friend Henry Harris Sr.
