Jeffery Alan Thompson was born on August 4, 1965, in Houston, Texas, to Freddie Thompson and Dorothy Thompson. As the youngest of five children, Jeffery brought immeasurable joy and laughter to his family from the very beginning.
Jeffery attended Phillis Wheatley High School, where he proudly played on the basketball team. Basketball was more than a game to him; it was his passion. He spent countless hours at The Fonde Recreation Center, playing with friends. He carried the same determination, competitive spirit, and love for life into everything he did.
Jeffery's greatest accomplishments were found in the family he loved so deeply. He welcomed his first daughter, Ashly Thompson, on June 20, 1983, followed by Jenara Thompson on April 17, 1985, Whitney Thompson on December 2, 1985, and many years later, the baby of his heart, Alexis Thompson, on August 15, 2009. His daughters were the pride of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to love, guide, and support them.
On March 28, 2009, Jeffery married the love of his life, Danita Thompson. While they officially became husband and wife that day, their love story spans more than 35 years. Together they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories, unwavering love, laughter, and a bond that stood the test of time.
Jeffery appreciated the finer things in life. He had a special love for Corvettes, admired a fine watch, and enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time with those he loved most. His sense of humor, warm heart, and unforgettable presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Thompson and Dorothy Thompson; his brothers, Freddie Thompson Jr. and Matthew Thompson; his sister, Ruby Thompson; and his beloved nephew, Jordan Fielder.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Danita Thompson; his loving daughters, Ashly Thompson, Jenara Thompson, Whitney Thompson (Cornelius Rice), and Alexis Thompson; grandchildren, Tatyanna Penrice and Chase Lewis; his brother, John Thompson; his sister, Carla Thompson; his nephews, Chevis Thompson (Kim Kneisley), Anthony Thompson, and Jamal Thompson (Yesenia Fielder); his niece, Tonesha Fielder; along with a host of extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and love.
Though Jeffery's earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of love, laughter, strength, and devotion lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
