Jerry Paul
Holmes
Feb 28, 1969 — Aug 3, 2025
Jerry Paul Holmes was born February 28,1969 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Patricia Smith (Holmes) and Jerry Lewis.
Years later, Patricia (Pat) took her toddler son Jerry and moved to Houston, Texas where she eventually met and married the late Eddie Smith. Eddie was an adoring father to Jerry and Jerry honored, loved, and respected Mr. Smith as his father, until Mr. Smith departed this earth.
Jerry grew up in Hiram Clarke and made a name for himself by pursuing his desire to be in the rap game. At an early age, Jerry had a deep love for music. He began collecting music albums and experimenting as a DJ for a while, going by the name DJ Pimp, a nickname that quickly became known among his peers. That early experience helped shape his musical ear and sparked his passion for hip-hop. It laid the foundation for his journey into rap. He went on to become a founding member of the Woss Ness – something he remained proud of until his last day. That was a major accomplishment in his life. He grew up with and collaborated with some of the city's greatest talent – most of which are out of Hiram Clarke! He was so proud to be an OG of the Clarke!!!
In 1992, Jerry met the love of his life Tiffani, and they later welcomed their son Jermel Holmes in 1994. Jerry and Tiffani married in 2005, officially becoming the Holmes Family. Jerry was indeed a family man. His sons Jerrelle (mother, Rhonda) and Jermel were the apple of his eye, both of whom inherited his creative, artistic gene. He also cherished his twins, Aaron and Lisa (mother, Angela) and held a special place in his heart for each of his children.
Jerry is well known throughout the city, particularly known as a Hiram Clarke OG. He started his own entertainment company called Fishgrease Entertainment. He created and released several projects including "Houston Muzik", a documentary and soundtrack honoring his hood and the greats that came out of the "Clarke" as well as albums from his group, Always Yen 2Sumthin (AYS): Supaniggaz, Survival Tactics and GoodFellaz- a collaboration with fellow Woss Ness members and other artists.
In addition to his creative endeavors, Jerry had a long and respected career in the Heating & Air Conditioning industry. He was deeply passionate about his work and was known for his expertise, professionalism and dedication. With over 30 years in the field, Jerry took pride in helping others stay comfortable in their homes. He loved what he did, and his knowledge and craftsmanship left a lasting impact on the many clients, coworkers, and friends he worked with over the years.
Mourning his passing, Jerry leaves his wife of over 20 years, Tiffani Holmes; his sons Jermel Holmes, Jerrelle Jackson, Aaron Miles and daughter, Lisa Miles; his loving mother Patricia (Pat) Smith; his brothers Anthony Allen, Eddie Smith, Jr, Brodrick Smith and Rodrick Smith; his sisters Eileen Smith, Latarsia Tinsley and Donyale Renee Fredericks; his doting aunt, Ruthy; his cousin/brother, Kevin Holmes; sister-in-law, Madeline; brother-in-law, Dana; daughter-in-law, Anisia Boone; his beloved grandchildren; and a host of relatives, friends, cohorts and Woss Ness members.
A special thank you to his Mega ACR Supply family – Murad, Akil, and family. They considered Jerry family – a brother. And we are eternally grateful to them.
