Joycelyn Marie Joseph was born July 23, 1962, In Port Arthur, Texas to Moses Joseph and Effie Mae Joseph. She was the tenth child of fourteen children. Joycelyn accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Stewart in Houston, Texas. She received her formal education through the Houston Independent School District. She attended Jack Yates High Schol. Over the years she worked for at St. Joseph Hospital. Later she worked taking care of children of her nephews and nieces. The Lord gave her the gifted to take care of others.

Joycelyn departed this life to go to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 11, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father, Moses Joseph, mother, Effie Mae Joseph, five sisters, and four brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories, three children, LaQuinta Joseph, Laytasha Joseph, and Freddie Joseph; two grandchildren, Aybrey Joseph, Daisha Davis; two sisters, Lavine (Theo), Olena (Curtis); two brothers, Daniel (Monique), Michael (Denise), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
