John Paul was called home in the early hours of Saturday, March 9, 2024, on his 59th birthday.

John Paul Wilkins was born to the late Walter M. Brown and Rose M. McFarland in Houston, Texas.  He was educated in the Houston Public Schools, graduating from Worthing High School.

He was a great philosopher, at least in his own mind.  He was, however, very intellectual, well read and could engage in a stimulating conversation on most subjects.  He enjoyed family, especially his first cousins in Brookshire, Texas he visited often as he could.  John lived a full life, often too fast, falling short, few regrets, no excuses, full of fun, adventurous, never boring, spoke his mind.  He had a giving heart depending on who was asking.  LOL.  Most importantly, John P. Wilkins knew God.  A seed planted in him and watered by the life his mother led.

John was preceded in death by parents, Walter Brown and Rose McFarland, his grandmother, Mildred Brown, grandparents, Milo and Alice Dancy, granddaughter, ShaNya Harris and Best Friend, Earsel "Big Kelly."

John is survived by his wife Dana Wilkins, son, John J. Wilkins, daughter, Jessica J Wilkins, two step-daughters, Sade and Chelsea, two stepsons from previous marriage, Arshaad and Arvieon, two grandsons, Zion Harris and Jayden, three granddaughters, Seriah Harris, Riley and McLanie, stepfather, Rogers McFarland, two sisters, Alicia Sanders (Robert) and Linda Bowen (James), brother, Marcus Brown (Tasha); one aunt, Margaret Brown.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
