Obituary

On April 7, 1971, a handsome baby boy was born to James Leon White and Janice Sigee in Houston, Texas. They named him Joshua Jameil. As a young boy he was very independent, strong-willed and caring.

Joshua attended Booker T Washington High School and later completed training for various trades including barber college and CDL certification. He was a talented barber for nine years before pivoting to driving for Stevens Transport, Transport Services and later driving for Texas Trans Eastern Company

Joshua gave his life to Christ at a very young age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He later became a member of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He strongly believed in God and developed a very close relationship with Him during the course of his life. He grew to really depend on the Lord in every circumstance, especially during his illness. His believed that his steps were ordered by the Lord and he strove to display his trust in Him. This belief was taught to his children, not only through words, but by example.

On April 22, 2000, Joshua Jameil, who had two beautiful baby girls, married Andrea Pierre, and subsequently added two handsome baby boys to their family. Through this union a blended family was formed. In addition, in 2016 Joshua also added a bonus son. Being a father was a joy for him. He loved to cook for his family and spend quality time with them. He encouraged, supported, chastised and loved his children with all of his might. He emphasized the importance of education and hard work.

Joshua was truly the epitome of strength and resilience. His life was a reflection of God's love and mercy. He was also a man of wisdom, offering advice to anyone who asked of him.

On February 27, 2026, our beloved Joshua departed this life after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father James Leon White, his grandparents Ernest and Elma Lee Sigee, Precious North, Gladys and Joseph Thomas and father-in-law, Cyril Pierre.

He leaves a multitude of loved ones to carry on his legacy – his loving and supportive wife, Andrea White, five children, Kiara, Ciara, Zion, Xavier and Gati. His mommy and daddy Janice and Ralph Thomas, his mother and father-in-law Cherry and Donald Ray Smith, his brothers: James White, Vierick Jackson (Andrea), Reginald Cheeves (Cornelia), Roderick Thomas, Ralph Thomas Jr. (Deann); his sisters: Sandra Johnson, Gwendolyn Macias, Roxann Thomas; his sister-in-law Stephanie Hood (Otis) and his special little sister Rozena Moore; his aunts: Regetta Walker, Patricia Stewart, Daphne Gardner, Carolyn Marshall, Jeannette Gardner, Sondria North, Mary Thomas, Versie Thomas and Delisa Thomas; his uncles: David Sigee (Kathy), Jonathan Birden (Bettye), Hozel White (Beverly), Henry North and Stanley North; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his special driving partners Jerlane Carter, Courtney Williams, Ebony Brown, and the TTE family.
