On August 19, 1955 a beautiful baby girl named Joyce Allen Weatherall was born to Beaulah Mae Weatherall in Houston, Texas. After celebrating her 71st birthday with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—as it is written, 'And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also' (John 14:2-3)—Jesus came on August 23, 2026, to take her to His eternal home.
Her unexpected passing brought sadness to the hearts of her children, grandchildren family and friends.
Joyce received Christ at an early stage in life. Baptized by the late Pastor Scott of St. Emmanuel Baptist Church, then continued under the leadership of the late Reverend O.J. Fontenot. She was a proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, having attended Douglas Elementary and Ryan Junior High School.
Throughout her life, she worked for various employers. She spent her longest time with Kmart and retired in September 2025 after 22 years at Thirsty’s Inc. Those who knew her loved her. She was a social butterfly and the life of every party. If she knew your birthday, she would call you every year to sing 'Happy Birthday.' She never forgot a birthday.
The pride of Joyce’s life was being a mother of Joymesha, Joyshelle, Joykedra, and Joynita. She was extremely proud of her 4 daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and everywhere she went, she proudly shared how many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she had.
Joyce is preceded in death her mother Beaulah, sisters Hazel Prince, Maragret Prejean, and Carrie Oliver, and god-sister Brenda Thompson.
