Jaunita Rena Day lovingly knows as "Nene" passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 59 in Katy, Texas. Love, faith, and devotion to her family were the threads that ran through every chapter of Jaunita's life. Above all, she was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished daughter, loving sister, and true friend.
Born on July 21, 1965, in Sugar Land, Texas, Jaunita was a proud native Texas who touched the lives of may with er warmth, wit, and unwavering strength she was a graduate of Evan E. Worthing High school and after pursued higher education Houston Community College, always striving for excellence in everything she did.
Professionally, Jaunita was a devoted and accomplished purchasing agent and treasury specialist. Over the course of more than 30 years, she worked diligently for Shell Oil Co, South Coast Supply Co., and Expro Oil, earning the respect of colleagues and clients for her integrity and work ethic.
Jaunita was predeceased by her father, John T. Ferguson, and her sister, Vickie Hurd. She is survived by her beloved other, Lillie Mae Bell, her cherished son, Brandon Montgomery and his beloved wife, Diamond Montgomery, her two adored granddaughters, Amelia R. Montgomery and Dream L. Montgomery, her loving brothers and sisters, James Williams, Vickie Connor, Lisa Connor, John Connor and Terry Connor, and a dear friend and sister for many years, Cynthia Bowie. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Affectionately known for her generous heart and joyful spirit, Jaunita loved traveling caring for her family, and sharing laughter. She found joy in simple pleasures and had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved.

Jaunita's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
