Judy Carol
Ward
Nov 24, 1946 — Nov 16, 2024
Judy Carol Ward, a beacon of love and generosity, left this world on November 16, 2024, but her legacy of kindness and spirit of giving will continue to inspire those who knew her. Born on November 24, 1946, in the heart of Houston, Texas, Judy's journey was one marked by compassion, dedication, and a zest for life that touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her faith-filled nature was the compass by which she navigated her life, and it shone brightly, guiding her through every chapter.
Judy's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Blackshire Elementary School, Ryan Middle School, and Jack Yates Senior High School in the historic Third Ward of Houston. Her school spirit was palpable, especially during the annual "Turkey Day" Classic, where she cheered with fervor for her beloved Jack Yates High.
Her commitment to her community was unwavering, as evidenced by her over 25 years of service at Harris Health, BenTaub Hospital. Judy's work was not just a job but a calling, as she poured her heart into every interaction and every moment of care.
In her personal life, Judy's kitchen was a haven of delectable aromas and heart-warming laughter. Her lemon pound cakes were legendary, a testament to her skill and passion for baking—a passion she playfully claimed surpassed even that of her sister Brenda's considerable talents.
Judy's family was the cornerstone of her existence. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Hilda Mae Ward, her father Morris Ward, and her cherished siblings Clarence, Betty Ann, Detria, and Andre "Kevin" Ward, her legacy lives on through her surviving family members. She leaves behind a void that cannot be filled in the hearts of her two daughters Shelia and Felicia, grandchildren Ashley, Ashton, Jazmine, Arwinn, and Allun, great-grandchildren siblings Brenda, Jackie, Ronald, Darryl, and Arnette, and host of nieces, nephews and friends.
As we celebrate the life of Judy Carol Ward, let us remember that her journey was one of purpose and passion. Her story is not one of an ending but a continuation through the lives she touched, the love she shared, and the hope she instilled. Judy's legacy is a call to all of us to live with intention, to cherish every moment, and to spread kindness like the rays of the sun, warming all it touches. Judy's spirit lives on, a guiding star in the hearts of those who loved her.
Good Hope B.C.
