Keith Bernard
Nobles
Nov 19, 1969 — Jan 18, 2024
Keith Bernard Nobles was born November 19, 1969, to the union of Alvin Nobles Jr. and Annie Stansell Nobles in Tyler, TX. He was the youngest of "the twins" after being born four minutes after his brother Kenneth. He was a lifelong resident of Texas, having lived in Tyler for most of his life before settling in Houston.
Keith's fondest memories as a child were the long summer stays at his grandparents with his brothers, sister and cousins in Mt. Enterprise and the work ethic he learned while helping on the family farm. He attended John Tyler High School where he was a lead performer in the symphony orchestra playing the cello and playing in the Tyler Youth Orchestra. His exposure to all genres of music at an early age inspired his love of music throughout his lifetime.
Keith came to know the Lord at a very early age. The church was a big part of his life, and he often expressed gratitude to his mother, Annie Nobles, for providing him with such a strong spiritual foundation. As a youth, Keith was an active member of Houston Temple Church of God in Christ in Tyler, TX. He frequently attended revivals and youth conferences of other churches with the idea that as long as God was in the room he would give praise! When he moved to Houston, he became a member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, where served in the Altar Guild Ministry for many years. His last church home was Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.
After graduating from John Tyler High School in 1988, Keith attended Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) in Nacogdoches, TX, where he studied business. During his time in college he made lifelong friends as an active member of several campus organizations including The African-American Students Association, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Mu Sigma Chapter. Keith had a knack for putting pen to paper and he shared his gift for writing as a contributor to SFA's newspaper, The Pine Log.
Keith met the love of his life, April Thompson Nobles in March of 1994. Keith affectionately called her his "April Flower". They were introduced by one of April's family members. Keith and April's fondest memories from the start of their relationship were the many road trips they used to share that solidified their bond. The two were excited to start their new lives together, and they were united in holy matrimony on July 22, 1995 in Nacogdoches, TX. Keith and April couldn't wait to start a family of their own, and their son, Ryan Nobles, was added to their union in 1997. Keith cherished his family and loved his son immensely. He took great joy and pride in supporting Ryan in all of his endeavors.
During the span of almost 20 years of his career, Keith accomplished many goals working for The UnitedHealth Group as a Senior Recovery Resolutions Analyst. Most recently he was awarded Employee of the Year in 2018, and was recognized as the top Claims Analyst for his region. Not only was he passionate about his endeavors with United Health Group, but he was a role model for his peers to always strive for excellence.
The Lord called Keith home to rest from his labor on January 18, 2024. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his smile, and his infectious laugh. He loved reading and anytime he'd find something that he felt was thought provoking, he didn't hesitate sharing it with the entire family. He'd often send a message in the family group text thread saying, "my young people stand up", and would then share a few words of wisdom and encouragement to his nieces and nephews. His life mantra was "Just Keep Pouring", taken from 2 Kings 4:1-6. We could not have asked for a more loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. We will miss Keith every day, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Keith leaves to cherish his memory his wife, April Thompson Nobles; son, Ryan Nobles; parents, Alvin and Annie Nobles; sister, Kem Deckard (Barry - preceded in death); brothers, Kenneth Nobles (Violet) and Kirk Nobles (NaGuanda); step mother-in-law, Josie Thompson (Melvin Thompson, II - preceded in death); sisters-in-law, Yvonne Maniez (Chad) ,and Terri Mclure; brothers-in-law, Melvin Thompson III, Michael Thompson (Kim), Marcus Bateman (Angie) and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
